This meditation and mindful living retreat will be centered on the Five Mindfulness Trainings, which correspond to the Five Buddhist Precepts in a version revised by master Thich Nhat Hanh and his Plum Village community.
We will contemplate our place in the world and our relationship with our own lives, with other human beings, and with all the species around us. If you are familiar with the Five Trainings and have practiced them for some time, the teachings and activities of the retreat will likely bring you new insights and inspire you to deepen and strengthen your practice. If, on the other hand, you are discovering them for the first time, the retreat experience will certainly awaken you to a positive and healing direction for your life.
We encourage you to take the time to read the text of the Five Mindfulness Trainings before coming, so that you are ready to fully appreciate the lifestyle we will share with the group and with nature during this week at Dharma Mountain.
