VOLUNTEERING AT DHARMA MOUNTAIN

To ensure that our retreats can take place, we need volunteers for various tasks. Working alongside Cévenn'Zen members and Dharma teachers, you will help prepare for the retreat in the months leading up to it (depending on tasks), then ensure that everything runs smoothly during the retreat.

Being a volunteer means supporting the retreat and the practice in a joyful and collective atmosphere.

We are looking for volunteers for our 2026 retreats!

The retreats for which we need support are as follows:

  • Wake Up Retreat (in French and English), July 6-12, 2026 (volunteers arrive on July 4 and depart on July 12 or 13) / Need for people to coordinate tasks or to cook

Singing Retreat (in French) from July 23 to July 30, 2026 (volunteers arrive on July 21 and depart on July 31 or August 1), with Sr. Dao Nghiem and choir director Nicolas Parisot /  We need people to coordinate tasks or to cook

  • Silent Retreat (in English) from September 2 to September 9, 2026 (volunteers arrive on August 31 and depart on September 11) / We need people to coordinate tasks or to cook

  • Queer LGBTQIA+ Retreat (languages to be confirmed), September 20-26, 2026 / We need people to co-organize & co-facilitateto coordinate tasks or to cook

For the Queer retreat in particular, we are looking for volunteers to help with co-organization to ensure that this retreat can take place. Working as a team with Cévenn'Zen members and Dharma teachers, you will be involved in preparing for the retreat in the months leading up to it, then ensuring that it runs smoothly and co-facilitating certain parts of the retreat.

Financial conditions: You benefit from a reduced rate (25% reduction for coordinating service meditation tasks), or the retreat will even be free of charge (for co-organizing and cooking).

Please note that accommodation conditions at Dharma Mountain are rather rustic (camping with your own tent or van) and that the terrain is quite rugged (not suitable for people with mobility issues).

Interested ? Start by checking out the details of the tasks to make sure they're right for you:

Co-organization of the retreat

Assistance in coordinating the meditative service tasks

VOLUNTEERS TESTIMONIALS

"Volunteering for a retreat is a great opportunity to practice while being part of the team!
I loved preparing all those beautiful dishes to delight the participants. With a good kitchen team, things run smoothly, you can enjoy the retreat and be useful; for me, it's a wonderful way to experience a retreat :) Far from feeling like a chore, the experience is more like giving a gift to others and to yourself. It's also, it's true, a way to enjoy the retreat by bartering rather than paying a fixed amount for the week. It's best to consider this if you've already experienced several retreats, and ideally one at the same location. That makes things run more smoothly! In any case, personally, I'll be back as soon as I can :)"

I volunteered in the kitchen at Dharma Mountain and it was a wonderful experience. The team was very supportive, and I was able to participate at my own pace. Everything was very well organized and ran smoothly, gently, and with kindness. I was also able to participate in the retreat, which was very enriching. I highly recommend it! It's a magnificent experience.
